Project Description

Drainage

Drainage issues cause all sorts of problems. Water needs to be directed where you want it at an appropriate rate. Since your greens want the water and you don’t want it surrounding your foundation, we work with nature and your greenery to make everyone happy. Encouraging slow seepage allows your landscape plants to drink up the water at their pace while providing positive slopes away from your foundation. On the other hand, a slower rate helps keep cash in your wallet by reducing any watering requirements.

Grading

The simplest solution to a drainage problem is grading. Correct a settled grade by top-dressing low areas to them into line with the rest of the slope to encourage water to seep into the ground while slowly moving toward the curb.  Either building slopes or cutting away areas use your landscape to control excessive water. Steeper slopes and retaining walls should be used  together if the landscape naturally slopes toward your house to create waterways around foundations.

A brand new house and yard means that you can create positive slopes right from the start. We build your final grade before your lawn goes in while following all the municipal bylaws. Getting your final grade done and then approved is the first step to a magnificent yard.

Weeping Tile

Larger volumes of water may be directed by adding weeping tile to problem areas. Weeping tile adds inconspicuous direction while focus stays on your yard.  We design slopes within your yard to stimulate moisture to soak toward the tile creating invisible waterways or stream-bed like conditions depending on your preference and conditions present.

Ditching

Extreme drainage problems demand ditching. Working with slopes, weeping tile and ditches provide the ultimate control over water. Any combination of these three controlling measures may be used based on your individual needs. After getting your estimate, we bring everything needed to get the job done right!
